Great step-by-step for the RDS deployment. I am running into 1 problem though. I followed your guide for RDS Farm deployment and made rdsbroker01 the RDWeb role also. The problem i am having is port forwarding in this config. Since the rdsgwy01 server is diffenrent from the RDWeb server, i can’t get both working. In other words, i forward 443 and 3391 to rdsgwy01 and i cant get to rdweb. I have to forward 443 to rdsbroker01 in order to get rdweb working. Clarification, it all works on the LAN but when you access RDS from outside the LAN, thats when you run into the problem. Can you explain how you got this working on your deployment? If there is one external IP, and 443 is forwarded to the RD Gateway, you will need to install the RD Web access role on the gateway server. If you have two external IPs, one of the IP addresses can be used for port 443 and forwarded directly to the RD web access server and the other IP can have its ports forwarded to the Gateway server.

I have been reading your blogs and have used your instructions on HACB in the existing RDS farm I have inherited.
One question I do have is about networking. Do we need to have dual nics in the hosts for NLB? Or is the load-balancing carried out by the platform?

Thanks Wayne! Load balancing on the RDSH servers? The RD Brokers will handle the load balancing for the sessions. So its carried out by the platform.
